DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) uses dedicated Tensor Cores on NVIDIA RTX GPUs to upscale lower-resolution frames using AI inference. DLSS 2 introduced temporal upscaling compatible with RTX 20/30/40 series. DLSS 3 added Frame Generation — synthesizing entirely new frames using Optical Flow and AI — which requires the 4th-gen Optical Flow Accelerator found exclusively in RTX 40-series GPUs. DLSS 3.5 added Ray Reconstruction for improved ray-traced image quality.
