Apple Silicon M4 is Apple's 4th-generation custom ARM-based SoC, manufactured on TSMC 3 nm (N3E process). The M4 brings a new 10-core CPU (4 performance + 6 efficiency) and 10-core GPU with hardware ray tracing and mesh shading. M4 Pro (14P+4E cores, 20-core GPU) and M4 Max (16P+4E cores, 40-core GPU, up to 128 GB unified memory) target professional workloads. M4 chips include dedicated AI accelerators (Neural Engine, up to 38 TOPS) and Thunderbolt 5 on Pro/Max variants.
