GDDR6X uses PAM4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation 4-level) signaling to double effective data transfer per clock over GDDR6, achieving 21–24 Gbps per pin. Used exclusively on NVIDIA's highest-end GPUs: RTX 3080 (10GB/12GB), RTX 3090, RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090. The 24 GB version of the RTX 4090 uses 24× 2 GB GDDR6X chips on a 384-bit bus for 1.008 TB/s memory bandwidth.
